This weekend marks as you probably all know one of the biggest Boulevard Festivals of the entire year, Boulevardia! Hosted in our vibrant Stockyards District, Boulevardia is a pop up party that draws people from all over the nation to celebrate Kansas City, craft beer, music, and a sense of community in the midwest.
Let’s talk about the music lineup this year. In past years, Boulevardia has been pretty solid with trying to incorporate local artists mixed with the alternative flair that is usually playing. In recent years, we’ve seen Tech N9ne headline, Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear mixed in with alternative hits like Meg Myers and Sir Sly. This year, some of our big local names will be hitting the stage including Yes You Are, The Greeting Committee, and Brass and Boujee. My inner middle school self is particularly excited about seeing Dashboard Confessional headline on Saturday and relive some great old childhood memories.
There are multiple ranges of ticket options available to choose from. It could be as simple as General GA admission, to hang with friends and hear some great music all day. There is a cycling option, Ride2Blvdia, which includes a 15,30, or 60 mile cycle ride around KC and proceeds go towards Cancer research, ticket also includes GA entrance. Some other fun ticket options include a KC bags tournament, a Father’s Day Beer & BBQ Brunch, or a Taps & Tastes package.
As you see, there are so many different ways you can choose to explore Boulevardia, but I mostly encourage that you do. I think it offers a really neat way to see all of our community come together every year over Father’s Day weekend and celebrate who Kansas City is as a whole. We are midwestern, artsy, eclectic, and we all know how to party and enjoy a nice craft beer. I also know this year they have added many more food and drink stands than in past years to cut down on your line time. It also should be gorgeous weather this weekend so instead of sweating in 100 degrees 75 should be much more manageable. There really is no excuse of why you should not be out there this weekend enjoying this pop up party with me. I’ll see ya there KC.
Until next week,
Kimmy
